Sandblasting is taking dry air and collecting it in a tank of sand at high pressure. The air and sand is forced through a ceramic nozzle, stripping away everything in its path. A rubber mask protects areas of the sign by not permitting the blast mixture to harm them because the mixture simply bounces off. The exposed areas are eaten away, leaving beautiful natural patterns in wood. After sandblasting the sign, it is cleaned and prepared for the priming and finishing processes.
